Tonight we opened the Clay + Ash Exhibition. Months of planning and lots of work with our group of artists all came together to produce an exhibition that really shows the breadth and quality of the woodfiring scene in Aotearoa.

It was also a great opportunity for us, as a community, to come together and catch up. There’s something insanely communal in woodfiring, the process of loading and stoking a hot box of bricks seems to also attract folk who like to share stories, exchange slip recipes and become stoking buddies.

The exhibition is on for a month and there is an extensive catalogue available full of stories from our group of artists.
